The Kempire has a diverse range of birds, some are rare or endangered
The Kempire is home to and frequented by a disproportionally large number of birdlife. This is due to its distance from civilisation, the scarcity of people, the distance from sealed roads, the state of the environment, reduced numbers of feral fauna, no poisoning of pests, no cats or dogs, and 2.3km frontage of Burra Burra Creek. Ornithologists and birdwatchers will find themselves in paradise and have ample opportunities to observe and photograph birds including wedge-tailed eagles, warblers, wrens, finches, honey-eaters, owls, corvids as well as parrots, gliders and bats. Prepare to be amazed!

Know what you may expect
May I set up multiple cameras, including video, around your property?
Yes you may. Just advise us where they are so wo do not damage them or make any noise in that area?
May we ask for silence for large blocks of the day?
Yes. The only exceptions would be emergencies or crucial tasks that must be done immediately.
May I set up viewing tents, ladders or other temporary infrastructure to get the best photographs/videos?
As long as you are safe and nothing is damaged, please do.
Can you take me to the best viewing areas?
Yes. I have spent significant amounts of time in most areas of The Kempire and am happy to take you to the far reaches of this fine land. If you are fit enough, we can walk anywhere. Otherwise 4WDs, ATV/UTVs and motorcycles (dirt, not road, and the lighter the better) are options.
What equipment do I need?
- Appropriate attire for the weather conditions
- Any photography equipment you need
- Protection, such as suncreen, boots, hats, sunglasses, etc.
May I post any of the photographs and videos I take?
Yes. All I ask is that you show us any that we are in before you post them and perhaps a copy of any we love, for our website.
